Duties

  • Collect and process patient payments, submit insurance claims, and ensure accurate billing and financial transactions.
  • Manage patient records with attention to detail, reviewing documentation for completeness and HIPAA compliance.
  • Verify dental insurance benefits, explain treatment estimates, and assist patients with questions regarding coverage and financing options.
  • Coordinate with dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants to ensure efficient patient flow and seamless daily operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk while answering phones professionally and responding promptly to patient inquiries.
  • Utilize Open Dental and digital imaging systems to update patient information, treatment plans, and clinical documentation accurately.
  • Review treatment documentation for completeness, assist with dental insurance claim submission, and ensure appropriate coding and supporting documentation when needed.
  • Protect patient confidentiality by safeguarding all sensitive information throughout administrative and clinical processes.
Skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills with excellent phone etiquette and communication abilities.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and experience with dental practice management software such as Open Dental.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, dental office operations, patient scheduling, and treatment coordination.
  • Experience with dental insurance verification, claim processing, billing procedures, and familiarity with dental coding and insurance documentation.
  • Bilingual abilities are highly valued to better serve our diverse patient population.
  • Previous dental office experience is preferred, with familiarity in front office workflows, insurance coordination, and patient scheduling.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail, accurate data entry, documentation review, and multitasking abilities.
