Job summary

Dental Associates of CT is seeking a full-time Dental Hygienist to join our two-office practice in West Hartford and Avon. You will perform dental hygiene procedures, educate patients, and help maintain a relaxed, high-quality care environment.

Ideal candidates hold an RDH license in Connecticut, an associate degree in dental hygiene, and have strong communication skills. The position offers a competitive hourly rate ($50–$55) and benefits including health insurance and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in dental hygiene from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental hygiene services including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, fluoride and sealants.
• Detect disease via oral cancer screening; examine gums; assess recession levels.
• Select materials/equipment based on patient’s oral health needs.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and postoperative instructions.
• Document hygiene services with vital signs, histories and charting.
• Sterilize equipment and assist with taking X-rays as needed.

Specific Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, application of fluoride and sealants
• Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession
• Selection of materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient’s oral health
• Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions
• Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient charts
• Sterilization of equipment
• Take x-rays as necessary and as recommended by the ADA

• Tuesday - 8am - 5pm (West Hartford)
• Thursday - 8am - 5pm (Avon)
• Friday - 9am - 3pm (Avon)

Salary Description

$50-$55/hour
