Job summary

Oxford Dental Group in Connecticut is seeking a Part‑time Dental Hygienist to join our family. You will perform dental hygiene services, including prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, fluoride applications, and patient education in a welcoming setting.

Qualified candidates hold an RDH license in CT, an accredited dental hygiene degree, and a professional, positive attitude. Availability for Monday/Wednesday shifts and one Saturday per month is preferred; Dentrix Ascend experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• RDH license in Connecticut (CT).
• Associate degree from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental hygiene services including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, fluoride applications.
• Detect disease and assess periodontal health and gingival status.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and postoperative instructions.
• Document hygiene services in patient charts and maintain sterilization standards.
• Take x-rays as necessary per ADA guidelines.
• Maintain equipment and support a collaborative dental team.

Currently, we are looking for a Part‑time Dental Hygienist to join our family. Candidate should have a strong work‑ethic and be a team player. Recent graduates are welcomed!

Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, application of fluoride and sealants
• Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession
• Selection of materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient’s oral health
• Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions
• Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient charts
• Sterilization of equipment
• Take x-rays as necessary and as recommended by the ADA
