Job summary

Denver Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist for the Eastside Dental Clinic (PRN/ Intermittent). You will register patients, verify insurance, explain costs, collect payments, and maintain accurate records across clinics to ensure timely access to care.

Strong organization, communication, and data-entry skills are essential. Experience with Epic is preferred; training can be provided. This PRN role supports flexible scheduling and department coverage.

Qualifications

• No High School Diploma and/or No GED required.
• No experience required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Epic familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Registers and checks in patients for outpatient services and updates encounters in the EHR; collects demographic, guarantor, and insurance details.
• Explains financial responsibilities; collects payments and routes to financial counseling when needed.
• Works with clinic leadership and staff to maintain smooth clinic flow and timely access; supports add-ons and walk-ins.
• Checks eligibility and benefits using payer portals; resolves coverage issues with Insurance Verification teams.
• Meets productivity, quality and accuracy standards and participates in audits and improvements.
• Provides coverage across departments as needed and complies with regulatory requirements.
