Job summary

Denver Health is recruiting a Patient Access Specialist - Specialty Clinics (4x10 Hour Shifts) to join our admissions & registration team. The role serves as the first contact for patients, registers and checks in patients, verifies insurance, explains financial responsibilities, and collects point-of-service payments to support timely access and a positive patient experience.

The position offers a regular schedule, with coverage across clinics as needed, and requires strong organization,

Qualifications

• No HS Diploma or GED required for the role.
• No prior experience is required.
• Ability to verify demographics and insurance information accurately.
• Capable of collecting payments and explaining financial responsibilities.
• Proficient in data entry and using the EHR system.

Responsibilities

• Register and check in patients for outpatient services using patient ID.
• Explain financial responsibilities and collect co-pays or self-pay amounts.
• Coordinate with clinic staff to maintain smooth patient flow.
• Check insurance eligibility and benefits and resolve coverage issues with teams.
• Meet productivity, quality, and accuracy standards and participate in audits.
• Provide coverage across departments to support staffing needs.
• Train new hires and answer questions as needed.
