Job summary

Johnson Family Dental is seeking a part-time Specialty Dental Assistant in the Nashville market, traveling to support our Periodontist. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of dental assisting experience and a passion for patient care.

This role involves assisting during exams, taking X-rays, sterilizing instruments, and educating patients about oral hygiene. Flexible scheduling of 2-3 days every other week offers variety across multiple teams and office environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience (Specialty experience preferred).
• Meet the state-specific Registered Dental Assistant credentialing requirements.
• Strong communication and commitment to excellent patient care.

We’re currently looking for a Specialty Dental Assistant to join our Castle Dental team in the Nashville market. This is a part‑time position, traveling throughout the market supporting our Periodontist. An ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, flexibility, and working across multiple teams and office environments.

Schedule (days/hours)

2-3 days every other week, 8am - 5pm schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during exams and procedures, ensuring efficiency and patient comfort
• Take and develop dental X‑rays as needed
• Sterilize and prepare instruments and treatment rooms following infection control protocols
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, post‑treatment care, and dental procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records and update charts

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience (Specialty experience preferred)
• Meet the state‑specific Registered Dental Assistant credentialing requirements
• Dental Radiology Certification (X‑Ray)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
• Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and OSHA/HIPAA standards
• Strong communication and commitment to excellent patient care

Compensation

$16 -$18/hr
