Job summary

LWSS Family Dentistry-First Colonial is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our Heartland Dental team. As a Dental Assistant, you’ll support dentists with four-handed dentistry, manage patient comfort, and help with health history reviews and education throughout treatment.

You’ll gain access to state-of-the-art technology such as iTero 3D scanner and Dentrix, maintain safety protocols, handle inventory, and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in fast-paced, patient-focused environments.
• Certification in dental assisting and/or x-ray as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients and educate them during treatment.
• Review health history to support safe, quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostics, including iTero 3D scans.
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols and OSHA/CDC guidelines.
• Monitor inventory and place orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers and Heartland Dental team to optimize workflow.
