Job summary

Montefiore is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists in clinical procedures and patient care. The role involves instrument handing, patient prep, X-ray administration, and maintaining a clean, sterile operatory.

The position requires 1–3 years of dental experience, a high school diploma or GED, and proficiency with Word/Excel and Epic EMR systems. Strong multi-tasking and customer-service skills are essential.

Qualifications

Experience in customer service and multi-tasking is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.
Ability to use data entry and retrieval systems.
Ability to use electronic communication and patient information systems.
Spanish or other language skills preferred if local population warrants.

Responsibilities

Hand dental instruments to the dentist during treatment.
Arrange operatory with supplies and equipment for procedures.
Maintain inventory of supplies and instruments; use logs.
Complete X-rays ordered by the dentist.
Maintain sanitary conditions and sterility of operatory and autoclaving processes.
Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform preventive maintenance logs.
Present a neat appearance and professional conduct.
Assist with orientation/procedures for new dental associates.
Retract patients mouth and operate suction to keep mouth clear.
