Job summary

Heartland Dental, in partnership with Certus Dental Care, invites applications for a Dental Assistant. You will greet patients, support the clinical team with four-handed dentistry, and manage room setup and safety protocols.

Strong communication and organizational skills are essential as you handle exams, x-rays, and scheduling tasks. The role requires at least 1 year of dental assisting experience and applicable certification.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment.
• If required under the state dental practice act, dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Access to minimum PHI with HIPAA training and data safeguards.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, ensure patient comfort, and provide education throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to provide quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.).
• Provide superior chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures.
• Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms with safety protocols following OSHA & CDC recommendations.
• Manage supply and inventory levels, and place/expedite orders as needed.
• Partner with the providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.
