Job summary

Monocacy River Dental Care, part of Heartland Dental, is seeking a Dental Assistant who will support clinicians with four-handed dentistry, manage patient records in Dentrix, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for patients. The role emphasizes precise communication, health-history reviews, and adherence to OSHA/CDC guidelines.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and data safeguards awareness.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and ensure comfort and education throughout treatment.
• Review patient health histories to provide quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (e.g., iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists per state practice act.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms with adherence to safety protocols (OSHA & CDC).
• Manage supplies and inventory; place and expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and optimize office workflow.
