Job summary

Heartland Dental is seeking a motivated Dental Assistant to join the Springfield team. You’ll greet patients, review health histories, and provide chairside support using Dentrix scheduling and an iTero 3D scanner, while maintaining safety standards.

The role emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by state practice act.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Regular HIPAA training and data safeguards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and educate during treatment.
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care.
• Take and process x‑rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance to dentists during procedures in accordance with state act.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room with safety protocols and OSHA/CDC guidelines.
• Manage supply and inventory levels; place and expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize workflow.
