Job summary

Dental Care of Hoover is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. The role involves greeting patients, reviewing health histories, taking X-rays, and providing chairside support with four-handed dentistry using Dentrix for scheduling and records.

The successful candidate will work Tue-Fri 8am-5pm with occasional Mondays. We value patient-first care, ongoing education, and a supportive team environment under Heartland Dental.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of chairside dental assisting in a general dentistry setting.
• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience with Dentrix or similar dental software is preferred.
• X-ray certification and HIPAA training as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients and ensure comfort throughout treatment.
• Review health history to provide quality care.
• Take and process X-rays and digital images.
• Provide chairside assistance to dentists during procedures.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record-keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols.
• Manage supplies and inventory; place orders as needed.
• Collaborate with team to optimize office workflow.
