Job summary

A Reason to Smile is seeking a Dental Assistant to join Heartland Dental's network of supported offices. Schedule includes Mon Tue Thu 7:30am-4:00pm, Wed 7:30am-5:00pm, and one Friday per month 7:30am-noon.

In this role you will greet patients, review health histories, take x-rays, provide chairside assistance, and use Dentrix for scheduling and records. You will work with a team to maintain safety and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of chairside dental assisting in a general dentistry setting.
• Dentrix or other dental software experience.
• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification may be required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• PHI protection and HIPAA training as part of job duties.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, and educate throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.).
• Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dentists during procedures.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room with safety protocols per OSHA & CDC guidelines.
• Manage supply and inventory levels and place/expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize workflow.
