Job summary

Smile Design Silver Springs, part of Heartland Dental, seeks a Dental Assistant to join our team in Ocala, FL. You will greet patients, review health history, take x-rays, and provide four-handed chairside assistance while using Dentrix for scheduling and records.

The role requires dental assisting certification and/or x-ray certification, with HIPAA training and strong communication. Safety, cleanliness, and education are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Certification in dental assisting and/or x-ray as required by state act.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection awareness.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and educate throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance to dentists during procedures following safety protocols.
• Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms with strict adherence to safety protocols (OSHA & CDC).
• Manage supplies and inventory levels and place/expedite orders as needed.
• Partner with providers and team to maximize office workflow.
