Job summary

Smile Design Inverness, part of Heartland, is seeking a Dental Assistant to join a collaborative team. You will greet patients, review health histories, and assist with a range of procedures using Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.

You’ll work with iTero scans and four-handed dentistry, while maintaining safety standards and PHI protection. A positive, patient-focused attitude is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment is preferred.
• Certification in dental assistant work and/or x-ray certification as required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Compliance with HIPAA training and PHI protection is required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients at the start of their dental journey and educate them as needed.
• Review patient health history to inform quality care.
• Take and process X-rays and scans (iTero, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance and support dentists during procedures.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols (OSHA & CDC).
• Manage supplies and place orders as needed.
• Partner with team to implement Heartland Dental systems and improve workflow.
