Job summary

Smile Design Inverness, part of Heartland Dental, is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. You will greet patients, support clinicians with four-handed dentistry, take X-rays, and help maintain a safe, organized operatory.

You will use Dentrix for scheduling and records, manage supplies, and ensure HIPAA compliance while delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced environment. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and educate throughout treatment.
• Conduct a thorough review of the patient health history to provide quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.).
• Provide superior chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during procedures.
• Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room with safety protocols in line with OSHA & CDC recommendations.
• Manage supply and inventory levels and place/expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize workflow.
