Job summary

JWCH Institute, Inc. is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists in direct primary care, maintain infection control, and manage instrument sterilization and inventory.

You will assist with four-handed dentistry, radiographs, and front-office workflows to facilitate efficient patient care. Responsibilities include preparing procedures, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and assisting in nitrous oxide administration under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of accredited courses in dental assisting is required.
• Radiation Safety Certificate is required.
• 8-hour infection control course per CA Dental Board guidelines is required.
• Coronal Polish Certificate will be required as of January 1, 2025.
• Knowledge of oral health education related to various populations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the dentist’s chair-side assistant using four-handed dentistry.
• Assist patients and provide directions as authorized by the dentist or hygienist.
• Prepare procedures and equipment according to protocols and directions.
• Complete digital radiographs and intraoral photos in compliance with state laws.
• Perform delegated independent procedures per dentist’s instruction.
• Ensure proper disposal of contaminated materials per protocols and regulations.
• Maintain infection control and HIPAA compliance.
• Perform front office duties such as scheduling, insurance verification, check-in/out, and co-pays.
• Complete duties as assigned by the Dental Manager or Lead Dentist.
