Responsibilities include chair-side assistance, taking radiographs, assisting with procedures, front-desk duties, and inventory control. Requirements: high school diploma or GED, accredited dental assisting courses, Radiation Safety, CPR/First Aid, and Coronal Polish by Jan 1, 2025.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of accredited dental assisting courses is required.
• Radiation Safety Certificate is required.
• Completion of an 8-hour infection control course per CA Dental Board guidelines, plus CPR and First Aid certifications, is required.
• Coronal Polish Certificate will be required by Jan 1, 2025.
• Knowledge of oral health education for various groups is essential.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the dentist’s chair-side assistant using four-handed dentistry.
• Assist patients with questions and provide directions as authorized by the dentist or hygienist.
• Prepare dental procedures and equipment according to department protocols and dentist directions.
• Complete digital dental radiographs and intraoral photographs in compliance with regulations.
• Take alginate impressions and perform coronal polishing when allowed.
• Ensure safe disposal of contaminated materials and maintain infection control.
