Job summary

The Oregon Department of Corrections is seeking a Dental Assistant 2 at Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla, Oregon. This role operates within secure healthcare and dental units, with an underfill option to Dental Assistant 1 if qualified for the lower classification.

Qualifications

• One year of support experience with chairside dental assisting (or underfill option).
• Current CPR certification required.
• Radiologic Proficiency certification required.
• EFDA certification by Oregon State Board of Dentistry required.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist during procedures and chairside routines.
• Prepare teeth for crowns and retainers, and place/adjust matrix retainers.
• Maintain sterilization, infection control, and instrument inventory.
• Manage dental materials and equipment, and ensure proper stock with expiration dates.
• Schedule patients and document treatments in EHR.
