Qualifications

• Must-Have: DENTAL ASSISTANT.
• Certifications: Certificate or evidence of completion of a dental assistant training program preferred, unless required by contract or applicable statute.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist with the treatment of inmates/residents by setting up instruments for each patient and treatment to be rendered.
• Prepare impressions and filling materials.
• After each treatment, sterilize the dental unit and instruments used.
• Replace instruments prior to the next patient treatment.
• Control medication, syringes, and other dental supplies or equipment; inventory as needed per established procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and the work area; utilize appropriate sanitation methods.
• Review dental services provided to prevent inappropriate use or duplication of services.
• Review the status of inmates/residents for completion of all necessary interventions, treatments, and services.
