Job summary

Centurion Health seeks a Dental Assistant to join the Idaho State Correctional Center team in Kuna, Idaho. The role supports dentists and hygienists in chairside dentistry within a correctional facility, handling instrument preparation, sterilization, operatory setup, radiography, and related admin tasks.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a dental assisting program or 6 months of experience, Idaho DA license or ability to obtain, and preference for expanded duty

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its recognized equivalent.
• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six months of experience as a dental assistant.
• Idaho DA license or ability to obtain license.
• Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment.
• Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments.
• Prepare and maintain the dental operatory.
• Operate radiographic equipment.
• Perform additional administrative tasks as needed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Technical school program in dental assisting

Experience as a dental assistant (6 months)

ID DA license or ability to obtain license

Expanded duty dental assistant certification (preferred)

Dental X-ray certification (preferred)
