Job summary

CHOICE Healthcare Services in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials. You will pass instruments, assist in procedures, and help with charting and sterilization in compliance with state standards.

Ideal candidates have dental assisting certification or 3–6 months of related experience, Arizona X-Ray and BLS certifications, and a commitment to patient education and high-quality care for children

Qualifications

• Certification from a dental college OR 3–6 months related experience and/or training.
• Arizona X-Ray certification and current BLS required.
• Arizona Coronal Polish certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures.
• Takes x-rays.
• Takes IOs.
• Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth.
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene.
• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor.
• Sterilizes instruments.
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene.
• Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor.

Summary

The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Arizona dental standards.

Education and/or Experience

• Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred

Required Certificates or Licenses

• Arizona X-Ray certification
• Current BLS certification
• Arizona Coronal Polish certification

Preferred Certifications

• Arizona Sealant certification
