How You Make a Difference

The Dental Assistant provides documentation of dental services, maintains dental charts, records findings, and schedules appointments, enabling dentists to monitor care and provide the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides chair-side assistance during procedures, sterilizes instruments, and mixes restorative materials as needed
• Performs intra-oral and extra-oral x-rays, develops and mounts films
• Maintains x-ray, processor, autoclave, and dental units according to specifications

• Manages inventory, orders supplies, and prepares trays for patients
• Completes daily instrument counts, performs screenings, and ensures cleanliness and sanitation of the clinic

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Associate’s Degree or Certification in Dental Technology from an accredited school

Experience

• Experience in private or public dental practice as a Dental Technician or Registered Dental Assistant
• Sound judgment in dental decisions within correctional healthcare settings

Licenses/Certifications

• CPR certification (must be obtainable and maintainable)
