Job summary

Choice Healthcare Services in Modesto, CA is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dental care delivery by preparing rooms, patients, and instruments, passing instruments, and assisting with procedures in accordance with the Dental Practice Act.

The role involves taking x-rays and IOs, sterilizing instruments, and helping maintain treatment rooms. Certification in X-ray and BLS, plus infection control training, are required, with favorable experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification or training: dental college certification or 3–6 months related experience.
• X-Ray certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• 8-hour Infection Control certification and 2-hour Dental Practice Act certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctor in procedures.
• Take x-rays.
• Take IO's.
• Assist prophylaxis cleaning of teeth.
• Instruct patients on oral hygiene.
• Sterilize instruments.
• Set up, breakdown and prepare rooms for treatment.
• Chart treatment plans with doctor.

Dental Assistant

Summary: The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.

Pay Range: $16.90-$21.49/hr (Based on experience)

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assists the doctor in procedures
• Takes x-rays
• Takes IO's
• Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene

• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor
• Sterilizes instruments
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene
• Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred

Required Certificates or Licences:

• X-Ray certification
• BLS certification

• 8-hour Infection Control certification
• 2-hour Dental Practice Act certification
