Job Overview

The Dental Assistant supports Dentists and Dental Hygienists in providing quality dental care to patients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Greets patients, assists with check-in/out, and helps patients complete health and dental history forms.
2. Escorts patients to examination rooms, records vital signs, and assists during dental procedures.
3. Prepares and cleans rooms for procedures, and cleans/sterilizes instruments.
4. Exposes and develops dental radiographs and records treatment information in patient records.
5. Schedules appointments, verifies insurance, and handles transactions.
6. Notifies dental provider of patient arrival, and performs other tasks as required by management.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Dental Assistant Program, Texas State Board Registration, and CPR Certification
• Experience: None required
• Knowledge: General Dentistry, Office Procedures (plus), Fluent in Spanish (plus)
• Skills: Computer Literacy, Patient-Centered Focus, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality
• Abilities: Speak, Read, and Write English; Stand/Walk majority of shift; Assist Patients in Distress
• Other: Maintain Immunizations, Comfortable with Exposure to Blood/Body Fluids/Tissues
