Job summary

Veit & Company, Inc is seeking a Demolition Superintendent to oversee daily site activities across multiple projects with 25–75% travel. The role emphasizes safety, budget, and schedule adherence while leading field personnel and coordinating subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in heavy industrial demolition and holds OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, and related safety certifications. Strong reading of plans and good communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Five to ten years’ Heavy Industrial Demolition experience.
• OSHA 30 hour, HAZWOPER certificate, Excavating Safety Training, Blueprint Training, CPR, First Aid.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, reports, plans, specifications, and legal documents.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• 25-75% travel within Midwest region is required.

Responsibilities

• The Demolition Superintendent manages the daily site activities by ensuring the project is constructed in accordance with safety, design, budget, and schedule.
• Schedules subcontractors to complete work as needed and monitors their performance.
• Prepares and participates in regular job site meetings and provides timely documentation for reporting safety issues and equipment damage.
• Inspects field work for quality compliance and reviews drawings before work begins.
• Responds to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or community members.
