Job summary

Brookdale seeks caregivers to provide dementia care in a senior living environment in the Pinehurst area. You will deliver person-centered care, assist with daily activities, and support residents’ independence while maintaining dignity and respect.

Responsibilities include ADLs, engagement activities, and accurate documentation. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compassionate communication with residents and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with related experience preferred in direct service with older adults living with dementia.
• Knowledge of dementia, particularly Alzheimer’s type.
• May need to possess current state certification and follow regulations to maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides dementia care including adapted ADL’s, meaningful engagement and communication to residents following a person centered service plan.
• Assists residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring and meals as per plan, encouraging independence.
• Participates in team discussions and understands residents’ Life Story, preferences, routines and interests.
• Maintains accurate resident records daily and reports changes to the supervisor.
• Monitors health and emotional condition and follows medication procedures as applicable.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment and follows safety procedures.
• Encourages teamwork and cooperative interactions with coworkers.
