Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Dry Goods Planner in Carrollton, TX for an on-site role that analyzes demand, manages forecasts, and oversees purchase orders to balance inventory across locations.

You will monitor item supply, minimize spoilage, and collaborate with distribution teams to optimize inventory and freight costs. A bachelor’s degree in a related field and strong Excel/ERP skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Distribution or related field.
• Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to influence others and work both individually and as part of a team.
• Strong computer literacy including ability to work with spreadsheets. Experience with an ERP preferred.
• Ability to quickly and effectively learn new systems.
• Reading/writing/understanding English proficient for job tasks and safety.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain demand forecasting.
• Analyze historical usage and forecasting reports to ensure proper demand data for automated systems.
• Manage sales history and adjust forecast to meet customer demand.
• Monitor and provide feedback on forecasting information from Chain Management.
• Communicate vendor issues and resolve supply disruptions.
• Place and monitor purchase orders to maximize in-stock levels and balance freight costs.
• Collaborate with Distribution Center functions to maximize operating targets.
• Manage inventory levels and flow to optimize receiving, storage, picking, and loading operations.
• Maintain inventory levels to minimize obsolescence and spoilage.
• Coordinate with transportation to optimize backhauls and freight income opportunities.
• Handle inter-division transfers, allocations, and quality issues.
• Monitor performance indicators such as in-stock levels and perfect order performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
