Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Program Planner to ensure adequate inventory of new and promotional products across locations to support marketing efforts.

You will manage sell-through to limit obsolescence and coordinate with customers, suppliers, and McLane teams on promotional activities. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 2 years of purchasing experience in high-volume environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business or related field.
• 2 years purchasing experience in a high volume, high inventory turn environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong computer literacy with demonstrated ability in working with spreadsheets.
• Prior foodservice industry experience in procurement, operations or sales.
• Reads, writes, and understands English well for job tasks.

Responsibilities

• Work with chain on promotions and menu changes. Ensure information provided is accurate and sufficient to support the planned activity.
• Review and monitor new item and/or new vendor set up requests for reasonableness and accuracy of data.
• Analyze and load promotional forecast data into purchasing system. Identify concerns with the forecast or promotional inventory build.
• Purchase or monitor the purchase of all items across all divisions in support of chain promotional efforts. Monitor the build-up and sell-through of inventory to ensure against inventory obsolescence.
• Communicate to all affected parties the timing and special circumstances associated with promotions, new items, item replacements, limited time offers, toy items etc.
• Coordinate and monitor auto-shipments, restrictions or allocations to support chain or manage tight supplies.
• Work with C.O.M. Team to ensure accuracy of customer order guides.
• Participate in chain and/or concept purchasing group conference calls.
• Determine franchise- and store-level participation in promotions and special product offerings. Obtain documentation and maintain compliance with AIP requests.
• Responsible for billing and collection of funds due resulting from inventory transfers, storage fees, product recalls, vendor shipping errors etc.
