Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking an Expeditor to optimize divisional operations in receiving, inventory control, product selection and transportation.

You will monitor POs, partner with distribution center functions, and maintain inventory levels to minimize obsolescence and spoilage. This role requires a BS/BA in business or equivalent, at least 2 years in purchasing, strong communication, and proficiency with Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree in business or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of purchasing/procurement experience.
• Understanding of production and inventory management concepts (pipeline fill, lead times and contingency planning ordering parameters).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• PC experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Willing to load/unload and deliver all products ordered by customers.
• Ability to read/write/understand English at work level.

Responsibilities

• Monitor purchase orders to maximize in-stock level and minimize inventory exposure.
• Partner with Distribution Center functions to achieve operating targets.
• Maintain inventory levels to minimize obsolescence and spoilage.
• Work with Transportation to optimize backhauls.
• Manage inter-center transfer, allocation, supply and quality issues.
• Learn McLane merchandising systems and reports.
• Manage assets and protect customer service levels.
• Act as go-to person for Grocery Merchandising and Procurement teams.
• Coordinate with VP of Distribution and Receiving Supervisor on inventory priorities.
• Oversee donations and ensure refrigerated capabilities for cold chain.
