Job summary

StaffBuffalo, LLC is partnering with an established organization to recruit a Transportation Manager responsible for the end-to-end delivery process, dispatch, fleet oversight, and staff leadership. This full-time role emphasizes operational improvements, DOT compliance, and vendor coordination to reduce disruptions and improve efficiency.

You will create routes for company-owned vehicles and third-party carriers, monitor progress with GPS and fleet systems, and manage maintenance, after-hours

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in logistics, business, supply chain, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of delivery operations, overseeing dispatch, transportation staff, fleet management, and equipment.
• Supervise drivers and transportation personnel, including assignments, performance, coaching, and accountability; coordinate company-owned vehicles and carriers.
• Create, schedule, and dispatch routes; monitor drivers and deliveries through GPS, fleet management, and routing systems; communicate schedules, issues, and ETAs to drivers, customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Resolve delays, route changes, equipment issues, urgent requests, and operational disruptions; improve processes to reduce preventable issues and after-hours emergencies.
• Maintain DOT regulatory compliance, company safety procedures, and applicable transportation requirements.
• Oversee facility and equipment operations; coordinate fleet maintenance, repairs, preventive maintenance, required inspections, and outside vendors to minimize downtime.
• Support transportation and field operations, resolve delivery and service issues, maintain accurate records in spreadsheets and transportation systems, and respond to urgent after-hours operational needs when necessary.
