Job summary

Community Servings, Inc. seeks an Assistant Manager of Driver Operations to support daily meal delivery operations, supervise staff, coordinate routes, and ensure fleet readiness.

The role focuses on safe, accurate, on-time deliveries and coaching drivers in using dispatch and GPS systems. The ideal candidate has logistics or transportation experience, trains staff, and can manage technology-driven delivery workflows while maintaining client service standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of delivery operations, logistics, dispatching, and route planning.
• Experience using fleet management, GPS, routing, telematics, or dispatch software.
• Ability to train and support employees in the use of technology and operational systems.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet safety practices.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to use, and train other staff in, both Apple and Android phone systems, as well as Salesforce CRM.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Valid Massachusetts Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass CORI/SORI background check.

Responsibilities

• Support daily delivery operations to ensure timely and accurate meal distribution.
• Assist with ensuring drivers have accurate routes and delivery information.
• Serve as backup during staffing shortages or emergencies.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training delivery staff.
• Provide day-to-day support to drivers and dispatch personnel.
• Reinforce safety, customer service, and operational standards.
• Assist with vehicle inspections, maintenance tracking, and fleet readiness.
• Ensure compliance with safe driving practices and organizational policies.
• Assist in training on fleet management, GPS, routing, dispatch, and delivery systems.
• Troubleshoot technology issues and support user adoption of operational systems.
• Monitor system usage and delivery data accuracy.
• Work closely with Client Services and Program teams to support delivery operations.
• Assist in resolving delivery-related concerns, client issues, and service exceptions.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, volunteers, and staff.
• Support service recovery during disruptions.
• Track and maintain operational data, delivery outcomes, and KPIs.
• Prepare routine reports and assist with performance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, transportation, confidentiality, and organizational requirements.
