The Delivery Manager is accountable for the successful execution of client engagements, delivery outcomes, and on-project team leadership. Operating at the Manager band, this role owns how work is delivered, how delivery decisions are made within assigned authority, and how delivery teams operate to meet Tru’s standards for quality, client satisfaction, and scalability.
Delivery Managers lead delivery teams on projects, partner closely with Project Managers on execution governance, and serve as the primary escalation point for delivery risk, quality, and tradeoff decisions. Delivery Managers exercise leadership and authority within project contexts. At the Manager level, individuals are expected to demonstrate leadership readiness through coaching, mentorship, and on-project guidance in preparation for progression to Senior Manager.
Core Responsibilities
Delivery Ownership & Accountability
- Own delivery outcomes across assigned client engagements or portfolios
- Ensure engagements meet Tru standards for quality, scope, timeline, and client satisfaction
- Serve as the primary escalation point for delivery risks, tradeoffs, and quality issues
- Make delivery decisions within assigned authority and elevate appropriately
- Delivery Managers do not have formal people management responsibilities
- Lead delivery teams on projects, setting expectations and direction for execution
- Provide real-time feedback and guidance on delivery quality and work output
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure effective execution
- Ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and decision-making within engagements
Partnership with Project Management
- Partner with Project Managers who own delivery governance, timelines, and risk tracking
- Support PM authority by reinforcing cadence, escalation, and delivery discipline
- Collaborate on resourcing, sequencing, and mitigation strategies
- Act as a senior delivery contact for clients during engagements
- Navigate delivery challenges and guide resolution of complex issues
- Support client confidence, retention, and referenceability
Delivery Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Enforce delivery standards, methodologies, and quality controls
- Review deliverables and provide guidance to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, leverage, and scalability
- Contribute to internal playbooks, standards, and best practices
Operational & Business Partnership
- Partner with Delivery Operations and leadership on capacity planning and utilization
- Provide delivery input into scoping, staffing, and risk assessment for new work
- Support business development efforts as needed (delivery approach, staffing models)
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience
- 6–10 years of experience in consulting, enterprise software delivery, or professional services
- Demonstrated success owning delivery outcomes across complex client engagements
- Experience leading teams within project environments
- Prior people management experience preferred but not required
Certifications (Preferred)
- Anaplan Model Builder; Solution Architect track (for technical emphasis roles)
- PMP, Agile, or relevant delivery certifications (for consulting emphasis roles)
