Job summary

IonQ is seeking a customer-obsessed Technical Program Manager to build and lead Delivery Excellence, coordinating a light-weight, scalable delivery system for on-premise quantum computing installs. You will align engineering, manufacturing, finance, and GTM to ensure commitments are met and customers are delighted.

Responsibilities include standing up the delivery backbone, managing multiple programs, and hiring a PM team. Strong technical fluency and executive-level communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent real-world experience.
• 12+ years of experience in technical program management, delivery leadership, or equivalent roles in hardware, deep-tech, or complex systems.
• Proven track record leading cross-functional delivery of complex, multi-team programs for external customers with governance and reporting requirements.
• Experience building and leading a program management team.
• Ability to pull status from engineering and other technical teams and translate into trusted reporting for customers and executives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to articulate complex topics to diverse audiences.
• Self-starting, high-accountability leader in ambiguous environments, driving impact.

Responsibilities

• Clarify delivery commitments and translate contracts into a shared picture of deliverables for each customer.
• Build and maintain an operating model for delivery of large-scale deals with templates, runbooks, schedules, and reporting artifacts.
• Align and de-risk by partnering across Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Field Engineering, Finance, and GTM; run cross-functional reviews.
• Deliver excellence by coordinating sub-programs to ensure on-time delivery, bring-up, and consistent customer experience.
• Build and lead a small PM team; scale the function with customers and product portfolio.
