Job summary

IonQ, Inc. in Bothell, WA is seeking a Staff Product Manager for a next‑generation hardware program within the Quantum Computing portfolio. You will own early definition through launch, coordinating with engineering, R&D, Sales, Marketing, and other groups to align capabilities with market needs.

You will partner with engineering leads on tradeoffs, manage demonstrations, and ensure the program is commercially viable and customer‑driven, from exit criteria to field deployability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technical product management or equivalent roles.
• Experience with hardware–software co‑development or scientific instrumentation.
• Direct experience with Quantum Computing or AMO Physics.
• Proven ability to build markets for a new technology and commercialize it.
• Strong written and verbal communication across technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Self‑starting leader in ambiguous, dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

• Understand The Market: build a POV on customers and their needs for future generations.
• Understand our Technology: dive into hardware roadmap and R&D pipeline with engineering.
• Define and Align: ensure milestones align with business and customer outcomes.
• Deliver: lead cross‑functional efforts to land new hardware generations across markets.
• Learn and Iterate: gather feedback from customers and data to guide next-gen design.
