Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Collections Specialist to manage a portfolio of customer accounts, contacting customers by phone, email, and mail to bring balances current. You will apply payments, monitor delinquent accounts, and escalate complex issues as needed, ensuring accurate documentation in the system.

The role requires 2 years of collections experience, a thorough understanding of collections processes, and the ability to collaborate with Sales, Billing and Controllership to resolve

Qualifications

• A thorough knowledge and understanding of collections transactions and processes.
• High School diploma or GED.
• 2 years of collections or relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Contact customers via phone, fax, email or letter to bring accounts to current status.
• Reconcile and apply customer payments posted on account.
• Monitor delinquent accounts and complete high-priority tasks to resolution.
• Research billing inquiries and misapplied payments and escalate complex issues.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements when necessary.
• Document actions taken on accounts accurately in the system.
