Job summary

UFCU is seeking a Collector 1 to support a high-performing Collections team. You will engage with members across multiple channels to resolve past-due loans, validate information, and document actions to advance delinquency resolution.

The role emphasizes empathy, compliance, and collaboration with the member to identify feasible payment options. You will report to the Assistant Manager – Collections and split time between UFCU Plaza in Austin and remote work, joining a team focused on service

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience collecting secured or unsecured consumer loans.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Validate member identity and communications with third parties.
• Interact with members through calls, email, text, chat, and letters to collect past-due balances.
• Develop empathetic relationships to facilitate delinquency resolution.
• Identify and prioritize viable options to resolve past-due loan status.
• Document collection activities accurately in UFCU systems.
• Provide accurate information about UFCU services and limitations.
