Job summary

State Employees' Credit Union seeks a Collections Contact Center Specialist in a hybrid/remote role in North Carolina. You will manage delinquencies across mortgage and consumer loans, negotiate payment solutions, and strive to maximize cure rates while complying with FDCPA and related laws.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field required.
2–5 direct years of experience in high-volume collections, recovery, or contact center.
Knowledge of FDCPA and federal/state consumer protections relevant to collections.
Proven ability to meet KPIs such as Cure Rates, RPC rates, and PTP conversions.

Responsibilities

Direct contact and counseling with members to discuss delinquency and cure rates.
Provide negotiation and financial counseling to secure Promises-to-Pay and short-term plans.
Ensure regulatory adherence to FDCPA and applicable laws in all activities.
Document all collection efforts and agreed payment arrangements in systems.
Identify accounts for escalation to foreclosure, repossession, or charge-off.
Utilize servicing systems and skip-tracing tools to locate members and update records.
