Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking an Assistant Delicatessen Manager to support the Delicatessen Department in providing fresh, high-quality products at competitive prices while delivering friendly, efficient customer service. You will assist the Department Manager, supervise part-time staff, and coordinate daily operations to maintain department standards and a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to solve practical problems; interpret instructions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data from one record to another; guide people and provide basic direction.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Assists customers by escorting them to the products they're looking for, securing products out of reach, loading or unloading items, and passing along customer suggestions or requests.
• Checks orders for the day and sets up a timeline and production schedule.
• Trains new employees and assigns duties to part time crew as needed.
• Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and maintains clean work areas in compliance with guidelines.
