Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking an Assistant Delicatessen Department Manager to support the Delicatessen team in delivering fresh, high-quality products and excellent customer service. You will help manage daily operations, train staff, and coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate pricing and appealing displays.

Your role includes assisting with scheduling, health and safety standards, and maintaining a positive store image while delivering a high level of customer care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months to 1 year of related experience in retail or food service.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic math and ability to adjust pricing as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, friendly customer service, treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Assist Department Manager in presenting fresh, high-quality products at competitive prices.
• Train and supervise part-time crew; assign duties and monitor performance.
• Ensure department standards, sanitation, and store guidelines are followed.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and pricing adjustments in the Delicatessen department.
