Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking an Assistant Delicatessen Manager to support the Delicatessen Department with fresh products and friendly service. You will help lead a team, ensure pricing accuracy, and coordinate catering and events within a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires strong customer service, supervisory abilities, and the capacity to train staff while maintaining department standards and sanitation practices in a dynamic supermarket setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Ability to perform arithmetic involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to file, post, and mail materials; guide people and provide basic direction.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers.
• Assist with product placement and merchandising to ensure freshness.
• Escort customers to products, handle requests, and pass along feedback.
• Answer phones and take product orders in a courteous manner.
• Train new employees and assign duties to staff as needed.
• Maintain sanitation and department standards while ensuring pricing accuracy.
