Job summary

Cosentino’s Price Chopper in Gardner, KS is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager to lead the Deli team and ensure customers receive top-quality products and service. This full-time, non-exempt role reports to the Deli Manager and requires a food handling permit within 14 days and at least 6 months of related experience.

You will supervise deli staff, maintain inventory accuracy, uphold safety standards, and support hiring and coaching efforts to drive department success.

Qualifications

• Food handling permit required within the first 14 days of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months previous experience in deli, bakery, restaurant or food service operations.
• Completion of ongoing training as listed on Cosentino’s Learning Plan.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision in the absence of the Deli Manager to keep operations efficient and respectful.
• Promote teamwork, high morale, and strong customer service within the deli team.
• Assist in hiring by conducting interviews to select top candidates for the deli team.
• Coach and evaluate performance to improve team results.
• Ensure product quality and proper inventory, rotation, and sanitation standards.
