Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager to lead one of our busiest teams, deliver excellent customer service, and ensure high standards of freshness and safety in a fast-paced store environment.

You will assist in managing the deli department, guide the team, handle ordering and inventory, and uphold company health and sanitation guidelines while striving for the best possible guest experience.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a preferred 2 years supervisory experience and strong knowledge of deli or related food service.
• Be dependable and reliable, having the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes; including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Have strong good communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to take and give direction, participating in a team environment.
• Have an outgoing and friendly behavior along with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers, taking special orders and answering phones.
• Possess leadership ability to build, motivate and maintain staff, while having knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers and financial goals
• Strong focus on detail, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Have and maintain Food Safety certification and ensure compliance with all regulations and standards.
• Strong organization and planning skills; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs. and stand long hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, and teamwork.
• Lead a team to deliver high quality product and exceptional service.
• Assist in hiring, training, and developing the Deli staff
• Unload and sort deliveries, operate deli equipment, and maintain equipment
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and training of team
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to a positive guest experience
