Job summary

SpartanNash is hiring for a Deli Associate at our Nappanee, IN location. You will be responsible for preparing and packaging deli products, labeling per program plans, and merchandising according to flight plans, while rotating stock and maintaining backroom organization.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and retail experience; strong math, reading, and attention to detail are important, with a focus on safety and guest experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (GED) preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce Deli Products to Production Planner
• Package and Label Deli Products per program plan
• Merchandise Deli Products per Flight plan/Merchandising Expectations
• Stock Backroom with Deli Products – Rotating and Dating Cases/Buckets
• Work as a team with other departments and Stores to achieve growth in SpartanNash Retail stores
• Notify the Deli Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Understand basic functions of adding, subtracting, multiplying and division
• Communicate tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates
• Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines
• Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations
• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines
• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
