Job summary

SpartanNash seeks a Deli Associate at our Elkhart, IN location to prepare and stock deli products, package and label items, and merchandise per plan. You’ll collaborate across departments to meet guest expectations while following safety and sanitation guidelines.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and retail experience is preferred. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods is required.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented and accurate handling of deli products.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills used for weights, portions, and inventory.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and Produce Deli Products to Production Planner.
• Package and Label Deli Products per program plan.
• Merchandise Deli Products per Flight plan/Merchandising Expectations.
• Stock Backroom with Deli Products – Rotating and Dating Cases/Buckets.
• Work as a team with other departments and Stores to achieve growth in SpartanNash Retail stores.
• Notify the Deli Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Understand basic functions of adding, subtracting, multiplying and division.
• Communicate tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates.
• Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines.
• Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations.
• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
