Job summary

SpartanNash in Kalamazoo, MI is hiring for a Deli Associate. The role prepares, packages, labels and merchandises deli products, while stocking the backroom and rotating items to ensure freshness and accurate dating.

You’ll work with the Deli Manager to order supplies and follow safety guidelines in a busy retail store environment. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma (GED) and at least one year of retail experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented and accurate workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce Deli products according to plan.
• Package and label deli products per program plan.
• Merchandise deli products per flight plan and merchandising expectations.
• Stock backroom with deli products, rotating/dating cases.
• Communicate tasks and cleaning steps to associates.
• Follow PPE, safety and food safety guidelines.
• Notify Deli Manager when products or supplies need ordering.
• May support other departments as needed.
