Job summary

Dierbergs Markets is seeking a Deli/Seafood Associate to join our team. This role supports customer service, product prep, and deli operations across warm kitchen and temperature-controlled environments. You will handle food preparation, slicing, labeling, and stocking while following SAFE handling guidelines.

Starting rate is $15.25/hr. Weekend and holiday availability, attendance, and the ability to follow recipes and training instructions are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to follow recipes, charts, invoices and temperature gauges.
• Basic computer, math and measurement skills.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
• Prompt and regular attendance based on your schedule.
• Adherence to dress code, appearance and personal hygiene standards.
• A Hepatitis A vaccination (MO locations only).
• May be cross-trained in other departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service that goes above and beyond.
• Learn and promote our deli and seafood products; use suggestive selling techniques.
• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Work in temperature-controlled environments (refrigerator, freezer, hot food prep).
• Operate and clean equipment safely per training procedures and manuals.
• Prepare and cook products in a warm kitchen up to 500 degrees.
• Follow SAFE food handling guidelines during preparation.
• Maintain temperatures and prevent cross-contamination.
• Prepare party tray orders and label products.
