Job summary

Dierbergs Markets, Inc. is seeking a Deli/Seafood Associate to join our team. You will help customers, prepare quality deli and seafood products, and work in temperature-controlled environments, using slicers, scales, and ovens per training guidelines.

You will follow recipes, adhere to safety standards, and assist with party trays, labeling, and product rotation while providing friendly, efficient service. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to follow recipes, charts, invoices and temperature gauges.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Prompt and regular attendance.
• Adherence to dress code, appearance and hygiene standards.
• Hepatitis A vaccination (MO locations only).
• May be cross-trained in other departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service that goes above and beyond.
• Learn and promote our deli and seafood products; use suggestive selling techniques.
• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Work in temperature-controlled environments (refrigerator, freezer, hot food prep).
• Operate and clean equipment safely; read warnings and training manuals.
• Prepare and cook products in a warm kitchen (oil/ovens up to 500 degrees).
• Follow safe food handling guidelines per SAFE program standards.
• Maintain temperatures and prevent cross-contamination.
• Prepare party tray orders and weigh/label products.
• Cut meats and cheeses using electric slicers as requested.
• Fill serving bowls with deli salads and place in case.
• Rotate products and check expiration dates.
