Job summary

Dierbergs Markets is hiring a Deli/Seafood Associate to assist customers and prepare deli and seafood products. You will work as part of a team in a temperature-controlled environment, learning product offerings and using suggestive selling techniques.

The role involves processing orders, maintaining safety standards, operating slicers and scales, and preparing party trays. Flexible schedules, weekly pay, and opportunities for cross-training are available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to follow recipes, charts, invoices and temperature gauges.
• Basic computer, math and measurement skills.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Prompt and regular attendance.
• A Hepatitis A vaccination (MO locations only).
• May be cross-trained in other departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Learn and promote deli/seafood products; use suggestive selling.
• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Operate and clean equipment safely according to training procedures.
• Prepare and cook products in a warm kitchen up to 500 degrees.
• Follow safe food handling guidelines per SAF E program standards.
• Maintain appropriate temperatures and prevent cross-contamination.
• Prepare party tray orders and label products.
• Weigh, wrap, and label products.
• Cut meats and cheeses using electric slicers.
• Fill serving bowls with deli salads; rotate products and check expiration dates.
