Job summary

Dierbergs Markets in Missouri seeks a Deli/Seafood Associate to join our team. You will assist customers, prepare and showcase deli and seafood items, and uphold safety standards across refrigeration and hot kitchen work areas.

Your role includes completing orders accurately, maintaining temperatures, cross-contamination precautions, and creating party trays, while promoting our products and ensuring fast, friendly service to every guest.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to follow recipes, charts, invoices and temperature gauges.
• Basic computer, math and measurement skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Prompt and regular attendance.
• Adherence to our dress code, appearance and personal hygiene standards.
• A Hepatitis A vaccination (MO locations only).
• May be cross-trained in other departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service that goes above and beyond.
• Learn and promote our variety of deli and seafood products and use suggestive selling techniques.
• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Work in varied temperature-controlled environments (refrigerator, freezer and hot food preparation).
• Operate and clean equipment safely according to training procedures.
• Prepare and cook products in a warm kitchen with temperatures up to 500 degrees.
• Follow safe food handling guidelines according to S.A.F.E. standards.
• Maintain appropriate temperatures and avoid cross-contamination.
• Prepare party tray orders and follow customer directions.
• Weigh, wrap, and label products using scales.
• Cut meats and cheeses using electric slicers.
• Fill serving bowls with deli salads and display in deli counter case.
• Rotate products and check expiration dates.
